Parks & Facilities

About Our Parks

The Transylvania County Parks and Recreation Department currently maintains 8 public parks and facilities spanning over 60 acres.  From scenic waterfalls, to historic buildings, to softball and soccer fields, the county has something to offer for people of all ages and interests.  As our population grows and diversifies, our parks system continues to expand to meet the needs of our residents and visitors.

In 2007, a comprehensive parks and recreation master plan was adopted by Transylvania County and the City of Brevard to address the current and future recreational needs of the community.  Significant progress in attaining these goals has been met.   In the last two years we have added two parks to our parks system, Connestee Falls Parks and Rosman Community Park.  The City of Brevard had made great progress in connecting their multi-purpose trail system to Pisgah National Forest.  While some goals have been achieved, the county continues to aggressively pursue opportunities to enhance the quality of life for our residents and visitors through the improvement and expansion of our recreational facilities and parks.
